The brewery was set up in 2003 by Robert and Debra Evans at Cunnery Barn on the Chatsworth Estate.

In 2014 the brewery moved to new premises at Ashford-in-the-Water, transforming the original barn into a Brewery Visitor Centre.

Most recently, after years of development between Peak Ales and Chatsworth and the installation of a gin still in the barn, the brewery now also proudly distills small batch Chatsworth Gin; a real local success story!
